Deshawn Parrish ID’d As Pedestrian Killed On Route 112: Suffolk Police
A pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 112 in East Patchogue has been identified as Deshawn Parrish, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Jan. 4. Parrish, 30, of Medford, was hit by a 2012 Nissan driven by 22-year-old Yvonne Balbucacuji near Sycamore Street at 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, police said. Parrish was pronounced dead at the scene, while Balbucacuji, of Patchogue, was uninjured, according to authorities. Nearly a month after a teenager was stabbed during a fight at a Long Island mall, a suspect is behind bars. The incident happened in Lake Grove, outside the food court at Smith Haven Mall, just before 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, as Daily Voice reported. Suffolk County Police said a small group of people got into a fight and a 16-year-old boy who tried to break it up was stabbed. The pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle on Sunrise Highway in Oakdale has been identified, Suffolk County Police announced on Monday, Dec. 30. Steven McDonald, 63, of Coram, was in the roadway of eastbound Sunrise Highway, between exits 48 and 49, when he was hit by a 2011 BMW 550 driven by Wayne Griffith, 60, of Medford, at 9:25 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, police said. A teenage boy is accused of stealing an SUV and crashing it into a home in Mastic Beach, Suffolk County Police announced on Sunday, Dec. 29. The incident began around 4:24 p.m. when a 2010 Mazda CX-9 parked on Lynbrook Drive was stolen and crashed into a residence at 103 Lynbrook Drive, police said. A man and woman walking along a beach on Fire Island stumbled upon human remains Monday, Dec. 23, police announced. The couple was along the beach around 4:55 p.m. when they found what appeared to be a human jawbone on Smith Point County Park Beach in Shirley, Suffolk County police said. The incident happened in Commack, at a residence on Hayrick Lane, at around 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16.
