A man hoping to sell a bracelet to a Long Island jewelry store was instead beaten and robbed. Nassau County Police said the 31-year-old victim called what he thought was Five Towns Jewelry Buyers, located in Cedarhurst on Willow Avenue, at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11. He was told the business was undergoing renovations and that he should come to a house on Redwood Drive. Social Media Threat Raises Alarms At Elementary School In Riverhead
Security was heightened at a Long Island elementary school after authorities discovered a threatening social media post. Riverhead Police said a parent contacted the agency at around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, saying their child had found a Snapchat post making unspecific threats against “Pulaski Elementary School,” along with other schools. The threat was relayed to administrators at Pulaski Street Elementary School and police conducted extra patrols at the campus, police said. Doorbell Cam Captures Man Urinating On Long Island Front Porch, Yelling Antisemitic Obscenities
Police are trying to identify a man who urinated on the front porch of a Long Island home and shouted antisemitic obscenities. The incident happened in Plainview, at a residence on Grohmans Lane, at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. Nassau County Police said surveillance video showed a man walk up to the home and expose himself before urinating on the victim’s front door and Ring doorbell camera. Burglar Sought After Stealing Cash From Oyster Bay Business
Police are investigating after a burglar made off with over $1,000 from a Long Island business. The break-in happened in Oyster Bay at the Lee’s Laundromat on South Street sometime overnight Monday, Sept. 9. Nassau County Police said someone pried open a rear door before stealing approximately $1,500 in cash. They then fled in an unknown direction. No description of the suspect was given. Human Remains Found At Harbor On Long Island
An investigation is underway after the remains of a dead man were found on Long Island. Nassau County Police detectives say officers responded to reports of human remains found at Hempstead Harbor in Roslyn just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10. A high school on Long Island had to be cleared for the second straight day after a new bomb threat.The latest incident happened around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale. A Long Island man is facing criminal charges after an 11-year-old boy was seen carrying a shotgun outside his home, police said. The incident happened in Bayville, at a residence on 7th Street, at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. A pair of suspects are in custody after police say an item worth thousands of dollars was stolen from a Long Island store. The alleged incident happened around 2:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, in Lawrence, at Kay Jewelers at 331 Rockaway Turnpike.
