Street Takeover Stopped Cold In Lirr Parking Lot In Suffolk County An attempted street takeover on Long Island was shut down, halting a chaotic gathering of vehicles in Ronkonkoma. The incident unfolded in the parking lot of the Long Island Railroad station in Ronkonkoma at about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, when over 40 vehicles gathered.  Two pickup trucks reportedly performed donuts around other vehicles and bystanders as the Suffolk County Police Street Takeover Task Force, along with officers from the department’s Criminal Intelligence unit, moved in to contain the scene, blocking all exits. 20-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Suffolk County Crash A 20-year-old was seriously injured in a single-vehicle Long Island crash. It happened around 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in Copiague. The victim, a man who resides in Copiague, was riding a gas-powered scooter eastbound on Oak Street, near the Long Island Railroad Station, when he lost control and struck a cement pillar, according to Suffolk County Police. He was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious physical injuries.
