1 Dead, 6 Hurt In Saratoga County Fire: What We Know An early-morning fire tore through an apartment building in Saratoga County, killing one person and injuring six others Wednesday, Dec. 4, authorities said. The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, at 54 Broad Street in Waterford, where officers arrived on the scene and assisted with evacuating residents from the second-floor apartments, according to a press release from Public Safety Commissioner Michael J. Breaking: Two Killed In Raging Capital Region House Fire Two people were found dead inside a Capital Region home after a raging fire destroyed the structure. Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, Sr., said the fire started around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the town of Knox on Thompsons Lake Road. Sheriff’s Deputies spotted the home fully engulfed in flames. Shortly after, the Knox Fire Department arrived, and with the assistance of the Berne and Altamont Fire Departments, they extinguished the fire. Body Found On I-90 By DOT Employees In Capital Region: Police New York State Department of Transportation employees made a horrifying discovery while working near I-90 in Rensseleaer, prompting a police investigation. The employees found a body at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, near the Patroon Island Bridge near the eastbound lane in Rensselaer, said Trooper Jennifer Alvarez. The right lane was closed for approximately 1.5 hours for investigation purposes and has since been reopened.  The investigation is ongoing. There is no perceived public threat at this time.

Man Caught With Fentanyl During Traffic Stop In Region: Police A 35-year-old man is facing a drug possession charge after police allegedly found him with fentanyl during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 in the region, authorities said.  The arrest occurred on Friday, Nov. 15, at around 3:45 p.m., when members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle on Interstate 84 West in Southeast, according to Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J.
