Second Daycare Worker Charged After Toddler Abused In Capital Region, Police Say A second employee is facing charges after a toddler was allegedly abused at a Capital Region daycare. Tia Sauvie, 33, of Johnsonville, was arrested Friday, Feb. 7, after she witnessed her colleague physically abuse a toddler at the SmartEarly Learning Centers in Clifton Park and failed to intervene, New York State Police said. Sauvie surrendered to State Police on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. She was issued an appearance ticket to Clifton Park Town Court and released from custody. Body Found On I-90 By DOT Employees In Capital Region: Police New York State Department of Transportation employees made a horrifying discovery while working near I-90 in Rensseleaer, prompting a police investigation. The employees found a body at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, near the Patroon Island Bridge near the eastbound lane in Rensselaer, said Trooper Jennifer Alvarez. The right lane was closed for approximately 1.5 hours for investigation purposes and has since been reopened.  The investigation is ongoing. There is no perceived public threat at this time.

Fatal Shooting: 15-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Capital Region Police in the Capital Region have identified a 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed. The incident happened in Schenectady around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in the 1100 block of Congress Street. According to the Schenectady Police, officers found a large crowd running from the area when they arrived.  They located Dubar T. Knowles, of Schenectady, in the backyard of 1122 Congress St., suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. Knowles later died from his injuries, police said.
