Wawarsing Man Busted In Broom Handle Attack During Kerhonkson Incident A man was charged with allegedly assaulting a woman with a broom handle and his fist, causing a head injury, during a domestic dispute in the region. Ulster County resident Harry J. Krom, age 42, of Kerhonkson, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 25, on Two Path Road in Wawarsing. An investigation alleges that Krom repeatedly struck a 45-year-old woman with a broom handle and closed fist. BMW Crashes In Hudson Valley After NJ Burglary, Pursuit, Police Say An occupant of a BMW SUV was seriously injured during a crash in the Hudson Valley that also involved an alleged home burglary and a police pursuit. The incident began in Bergen County, around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, in Closter and ended in Rockland County, in Palisades, a few minutes later with a violent crash that rolled the vehicle and landed it back upright. Schenectady Police were called about an unresponsive woman at the Imperial Motel on State Street at around 4:20 a.m. Sunday, July 21. The victim, 49-year-old Renee Stratton, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy determined she had suffered blunt force trauma, and her death was ruled a homicide.
