Man Charged With Arson After Fireworks Burn Pair Of Long Island Homes, Shed A 33-year-old Long Island man was charged with arson after giving a firework to an 11-year-old to ignite, which then burned a shed and two homes. The incident occurred in Levittown around 8:50 a.m., Thursday, July 4, on Red Maple Drive North. According to Nassau County Police detectives, officers responded to 128 Red Maple Drive North for reports of a fire. The accident happened at around 9 p.m. Saturday, June 29, in Brentwood at a residence on Eastern Avenue near Nostrand Avenue. Suffolk County Police said a 66-year-old man was in the yard when a firework exploded, severing his left hand and three fingers on his right hand. The incident occurred in Bay Shore on Monday, June 17. Suffolk County Police said the Third Precinct received a tip regarding the fireworks.
