Levittown detectives are scratching their heads after a portable bathroom went up in flames early Saturday morning—followed by a man running from the scene, also on fire. The bizarre incident happened in front of a home at 119 Sprucewood Drive around 4:30 a.m. on December 14. Officers arrived to find a scorched portable bathroom parked on the front lawn, and witnesses reported spotting an unidentified man fleeing eastbound down Sprucewood Drive, running like a stuntman in an action movie, literally in flames. A Connecticut man is facing felony charges after a brutal altercation left a Mahopac resident critically injured, Carmel Police announced in an updated release on Sunday, Dec. 8. Officers were called to the scene on Curry Road in Mahopac at 5:17 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. They arrived to find two men in the roadway. A 44-year-old Mahopac man was unconscious with life-threatening injuries, while 32-year-old Brooks Lawrence of Connecticut was detained at the scene. Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle midday Long Island crash. It happened just after 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Melville. Two men and a woman were hospitalized after an overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Jericho. That's when a 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound and struck a 2005 Isuzu in the vicinity of Exit 40E, according to Nassau County Police. King Gonzales was last seen leaving West Hempstead High School at around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, according to Nassau County Police. The identity has been released of a man who was shot and killed on Long Island. It happened just after 1 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in Hempstead. Responding officers found a 39-year-old man shot inside a vehicle on Yale Street, according to Nassau County Police. Worker Airlifted Following Accident At Long Island Industrial Business
An employee was hospitalized following an accident at a Long Island industrial business. Emergency crews in Inwood were called to the Inwood Material Terminal located on Sheridan Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17. Nassau County Police said a preliminary investigation found that a 49-year-old man fell off the platform of an excavator and landed on the ground. Medics at the scene treated the victim for back trauma before he was flown to a hospital. The man was conscious and alert throughout the ordeal, police said. The accident is under investigation.

Police are asking for help in locating a Long Island woman who was reported missing. Eva Kruslinski, age 30, was last seen in Huntington Station on East Jericho Turnpike at around 1:45 p.m. Monday, July 22. Authorities are searching for a 5-year-old boy who may be in danger after going missing from Long Island. Henderson Calderon Carranza was last seen on Tuesday, July 9 in Central Islip, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse.
