3 Hospitalized After House Fire In Region Three people were rescued from a burning Hudson Valley home and hospitalized, firefighters said. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, Nov. 5 just after midnight, when flames went up on a home's porch in the Lake Secor area of Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Arriving fire crews soon realized three people were still inside the residence and quickly went inside to remove them. Man Struck, Killed By SUV Was Inspecting Car After Minor Crash On I-87, Police Say A man who was involved in a minor crash on the New York Thruway was killed when he stepped out of his vehicle to inspect the damage and was struck by a 2018 Ford SUV.  Saul Clark, 55, of Paterson, New Jersey, had gotten out of his vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-87 in West Nyack when he was struck by the passing SUV driven by a Nyack woman just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said. Man Rescued After Crashing 60 Feet Down Into Rocky Embankment In Region A man had to be carried around 60 feet up a rocky Hudson Valley gorge after crashing into it, authorities said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Oct. 6, when an all-terrain vehicle crashed down a cliff in Cold Spring at the gorge on Mill Road, according to the North Highlands Fire Department.
