Thousands of longshoremen along the East and Golf coasts are on strike in a move that could heavily impact the economy and make it harder to get goods and services. In Elizabeth, NJ, the strike began on Tuesday, Oct. 1 outside Maher Terminal where hundreds of dockworkers rallied. State leaders are on the lookout for businesses hoping to cash in on the recent flooding that hit Long Island. New York Attorney General Letitia James issued an alert warning businesses against price gouging on essential items in Suffolk County.
