Police are investigating the death of a man who was pulled unresponsive from water on Long Island. A Suffolk County Park Ranger was patrolling on Outer Beach in Smith Point County Park when he was notified that a man was in distress in the water at noontime Sunday, Aug. 11. The officer and a good Samaritan immediately attempted to reach the man using a life ring, but he was located unresponsive by Suffolk County lifeguards on jet skis. Officials are investigating following a mid-air collision during an air show in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, July 28, in the area of the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck. It happened on Friday, July 19, at around 5:30 p.m. in Lynbrook. A toddler is hospitalized after being pulled unconscious from a swimming pool on Long Island. Emergency crews in Southampton were called to a North Haven residence on Sunset Beach Road for a 2-year-old boy found floating in a pool at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7. Southampton Town Police said medics performed CPR on the child as he was transported to Southampton Hospital. The child was later transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he remained days later. A Westchester County man suffered serious injuries after lighting a firework on Independence Day evening on Long Island. According to Suffolk County Police, the incident happened in Copiague around 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. A child is in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a Long Island home. Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct officers responded to a 911 call about the incident involving the 9-year-old boy in Nesconset at about 6:15 p.m. Friday, June 28.
