Man Killed When Car Falls On Him Outside Long Island Pep Boys
A man was killed while working on a car outside a Long Island auto shop. The incident happened in Bay Shore, at the Pep Boys on Sunrise Highway, sometime overnight Wednesday, Nov. 6. Suffolk County Police said Stephan Edwards was in the parking lot working on a Kia sedan that was raised on a jack when the vehicle fell on him. The 30-year-old Edwards, of Margate, Florida, was discovered shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Alert Issued For Missing 17-Year-Old Girl From Long Island
Authorities are asking for help in locating a missing teenager from Long Island. Jenna Ceruti, age 17, of Bay Shore, was last seen on Sunday, Nov. 3, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse. She is believed to be in the local area. No other information was given. Ceruti previously went missing for two weeks in August 2023 before being located. She is 5-foot-7 and 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. 1 Seriously Injured In Overnight Long Island Crash
One person suffered severe injuries in an overnight Long Island crash. It happened around 9:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in Islip. A 54-year-old Bay Shore man was crossing Brentwood Road at the intersection of Colorado Avenue, when he was struck by a northbound 2018 Hyundai Elantra. The pedestrian was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries. The driver of the Elantra, a 53-year-old Brentwood man, was not injured. A Long Island man whose abuse and stalking of his former girlfriend culminated in a knifepoint kidnapping will spend decades behind bars. Holmark Garces, age 35, of Bay Shore, was sentenced to 27 to 30 years in prison in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Sept. 30. According to prosecutors, the victim moved out of Garces’ Bay Shore residence in December 2019 after he became increasingly controlling and abusive.
