The incident happened in Speonk, at around 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, according to Southampton Town Police. Investigators said a resident called 911 saying a man known to them had illegally entered their home and threatened them with a box cutter. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled.
