The suspect entered the Sunoco Gas Station at 1220 Hempstead Turnpike around 1:54 a.m. and attempted to purchase a drink and two packs of cigarettes, but his debit or credit card was declined, detectives said. ID Released Of Woman Fatally Struck Crossing Long Island Roadwau The identity has been released of a woman who was struck and killed in a crash on Long Island. The incident happened at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, on Hempstead Turnpike near the intersection of Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale.  A 25-year-old man driving a 1995 Lexus westbound on the turnpike hit the woman as she was crossing the road, according to Nassau County Police said.
