A Long Island man was killed when his car crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. Donald Butler of Wheatley Heights, died in the crash in Westampton Township on Tuesday, Oct. 15, a New Jersey State Police spokesperson said. Two people were killed in a fiery, single-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway. The wreck happened in North Massapequa, in the eastbound lanes near exit 29, at around 8:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14. A two-vehicle Long Island crash left one of the drivers seriously injured. It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct.13, in Hauppauge. A 33-year-old man from Brentwood was driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Joshuas Path, near Stonehenge Lane. He attempted to make a right-hand turn into a parking lot and was struck by a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle that was trying to go around the Jeep, according to Suffolk County Police. The incident happened in New Hyde Park, at the Touch of Class II salon on Jericho Turnpike, at around 1:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27.
