New Details Emerge After Person Found Shot Dead On Roadway In Wantagh New details have been released after a man was found dead on Long Island. Click here for a new, updated story: ID Released For 32-Year-Old Found Shot Dead On Roadway In Wantagh Officers responding to Wayside Lane in Wantagh at around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, located the person on the side of the road who had sustained a gunshot wound. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. In a new update, police say the person has been identified as a 32-year-old from Amityville. His identity has not yet been released. Arrival officers discovered a woman with gunshot wounds to her leg and abdomen, lying on the ground in front of the establishment, Clarkstown Police said. It happened around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Syosset near 225 Underhill Blvd.  Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 34-year-old man had sustained a gunshot wound to the face, Nassau County Police said.
