A father angered over losing visitation rights with his kids tried bombing a Long Island government building, prosecutors said, leading to the county’s first ever terrorism charge.
James Luca, age 46, of North Merrick, was arraigned on terrorism and related charges in Nassau County Court on Wednesday, Nov. 13, in connection with an attempted bombing at the Nassau County Department of Social Services building in Uniondale.

The New York native, from Long Island’s Plainview, was one of 251 hostages taken during the Hamas-led attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Another 1,200 men, women, and children were killed in the attacks.
Neutra, who turned 23 on Monday, Oct. 14, moved to Israel when he was 18 to join the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) during a gap year, his parents Orna and Ronen said in a video shared by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Centereach Man Threatens To Blow Up Airport As Part Of TikTok Prank: Reports
A Long Island man is out on bail after he threatened to blow up a South Carolina airport as a prank for his TikTok channel, multiple news reports said.
Thomas Brienza, age 20, of Centereach, was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 24, in North Charleston, South Carolina, The Post and Courier in Charleston reported. He faces charges of threatening to use a weapon of mass destruction for an act of terrorism, according to court filings.
