Full Closures Planned On Sunrise Highway In Brookhaven Drivers on Long Island should plan for overnight closures on Sunrise Highway in Brookhaven as road crews begin a week of resurfacing work. Eastbound Sunrise Highway (Route 27) will be closed between Exit 57S (Yaphank Avenue/County Route 21) and Exit 59 (Wading River Road) from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Friday, Sept. 5 through Friday, Sept. 12, weather permitting. In the Town of Oyster Bay, both directions of the Long Island Expressway will see overnight closures the week of Sunday, Oct. 27, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
