The organizer behind SantaCon stole more than $1 million meant for charity and spent it on lavish personal vacations, luxury properties, and a Michelin-star meal, federal authorities said Wednesday, April 15.
Stefan Pildes, 50, of Hewitt, NJ, pitched the annual bar crawl as a charity event, with proceeds going “directly to Santa’s charity drive.” With that pitch, he raised $2.7 million between 2019 and 2024, according to the feds.
