3 Charged At Thanksgiving Eve DWI Checkpoint In Patchogue Three people were arrested for driving while intoxicated during an overnight sobriety checkpoint on Long Island, according to Suffolk County Police. The checkpoint took place from 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, Nov. 27, to 2 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, at Waverly Plaza, located at 371 North Service Road in Patchogue.  Officers from the Suffolk County Police Highway SAFE-T Team (Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team) screened 377 vehicles as part of a holiday crackdown on impaired driving. Suffolk County Man Charged With DWI After Crash Seriously Injures Passenger A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a crash left his passenger seriously injured on Long Island. Francisco Fernandesdosreis, of Farmingville, was driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee northbound when the vehicle struck two parked cars and overturned in front of 111 College Road in Selden around 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, according to Suffolk County Police. Suspect Nabbed After 30-Year-Old From North Babylon Shot, Killed In Broad Daylight A suspect has been apprehended after a fatal shooting in broad daylight outside a Long Island residence. It happened around 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 in Brentwood. Joshua E. Jasmin, age 30, of North Babylon, was transported via Brentwood Legion Ambulance to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Following an investigation, Romeo Campbell, age 23, of Brentwood, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, Aug. 31.
