A police drone helped officers track down a woman accused of stealing from a Long Island store before crashing her car and hiding in a backyard. Officers responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods on Jericho Turnpike in Commack around 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, for a report of a shoplifting in progress, according to Suffolk County Police. Shark Bite Suspected After Woman Injured At Jones Beach
A 20-year-old woman was injured while swimming off Jones Beach State Park, and officials now believe a shark was to blame. The incident happened around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, when the woman, waist-deep in the surf at the Central Mall beachfront, reported being bitten by an unknown marine animal. Authorities have identified the pilot killed in a small plane crash in Somerset County over the weekend. Pankaj Mohan, 61, of Lawrenceville, was operating a Cirrus SR22 that crashed in a wooded area of Franklin Township at approximately 10:35 a.m. Sunday, March 30, according to the FAA and Franklin Township Police Capt.
