A head-on crash sparked a car fire and sent three people to the hospital early Sunday morning in Inwood, according to Nassau County Police. The collision happened between a 2012 Sprinter van and a 2016 Honda sedan at Nassau Expressway and Burnside Avenue at 4:18 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, police said in a release from the Fourth Squad. The Sprinter van was heading north on the expressway with one person inside, detectives explained. Authorities are asking for help in identifying a driver who died in a fiery, single-car crash on Long Island. The early morning wreck happened in Port Washington, on Roslyn West Shore Road near Seaview Boulevard, at around 2:20 a.m. Monday, June 30, Port Washington Police told Daily Voice. Emergency crews responding to reports of a car fire found a sedan that had veered off the northbound side of the roadway and was fully engulfed in flames. Car Fire Blocking Multiple Lanes Of Long Island Highway During Evening Commute
A car fire was blocking multiple lanes of a Long Island highway during the evening commute Tuesday, Jan. 21. Fire and aid crews were dispatched to the Wantagh State Parkway in East Meadow for a car fire in the southbound lanes near Stewart Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. All but one of the eastbound lanes were blocked by emergency responders, Department of Transportation cameras showed.
