Popular Meteorologist For CBS Affiliate Killed In Plane Crash
A beloved chief meteorologist for a CBS-TV affiliate was killed in a small plane crash.
Roland Steadham, the longtime weatherman fo Boise, Idaho-based CBS2 (KBOI-TV), died Tuesday morning, Jan. 27, in the crash that also killed another man near Emmett, Idaho.
Steadham, 67, was a popular broadcaster and respected pilot with more than 3,000 flight hours, according to CBS2 Boise.
The Gem County Sheriff's Office said the aircraft crashed into a frozen section of the Payette River in the Black Canyon area after clipping a power line at around 10:58 a.m.

Charles Bierbauer, the steady CNN voice from the Pentagon to the White House who later built a journalism powerhouse at the University of South Carolina, has died. He was age 83.
Bierbauer’s death at his Spruce Pine, North Carolina, residence on Friday, Aug. 29, came as he enjoyed retirement, a university spokesperson said. No cause was given, but the family’s obituary said “his generous heart gave out after a good, long life.”

Craig Wolfley, a former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman, broadcaster, and world-class strongman, has died at the age of 66, the team announced Monday, March 10.
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Craig Wolfley, a beloved member of the Pittsburgh Steelers family," Steelers President Art Rooney II said.
