Duo Nabbed In Jewelry Store Burglaries Targeting Hudson Valley Businesses Two suspects are behind bars in connection with a string of jewelry store burglaries that targeted businesses in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. In Dutchess County, police were called at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, for a burglary in progress in Beacon at Sky Diamond Jewelers on Main Street. As officers arrived, the suspects were seen driving away from the scene.  Officers initially pursued the vehicle onto the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge but called off the chase “due to the unsafe speeds,” Beacon Police said. Mail Truck Bursts Into Flames In Residential Hudson Valley Neighborhood A residential road in the Hudson Valley was temporarily closed after a mail truck caught on fire. The incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, June 7 just before 4 p.m., when a US Postal Service delivery truck went up in flames on Fairmont Road in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.  The roadway was closed for about a half hour as crews worked to extinguish the blaze.  No injuries resulted from the fire, the department said. Firefighters did not detail the cause of the blaze.

New York State Police have confirmed that the remains of a missing Hudson Valley woman are those found at the property of a new home construction site. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, the remains of Karen Angelillo Ramsey, age 25, were found in Putnam County in the town of Patterson on April 16 during excavation work at the property of a new home.
