36 Years After Upstate NY Waitress Found Bludgeoned To Death, Her Killer Remains Free More than three decades after Pamela Ann Devizzio was found bludgeoned to death in a ditch in upstate New York, police are no closer to catching her killer. The 28-year-old Saratoga County resident's body was found in the town of Northumberland, on the side of Putnam Road just east of Jacob Drive, by a passing truck driver on the morning of July 6, 1988. Man Accused Of Beating Victim To Death In Hudson Valley A resident in the region faces 25 years in state prison after being found guilty by a jury for beating another man to death. Ulster County resident Joseph Karolys, age 39, of Saugerties, was convicted on Friday, June 14, of manslaughter, assault, and tampering with physical evidence following a two-week jury trial for the death of David "Mickey" Myer, age 66, also of Saugerties, on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022. Albany Police were called at around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, for shots fired in the West Hill neighborhood, near Second and Quail streets. Officers found a 46-year-old woman who was shot in the leg and a 13-year-old boy suffering from a graze bullet wound to his arm. Body Recovered After Person Jumps From Bear Mountain Bridge A body was recovered after a person jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge. The incident happened around 1 p.m. Friday, May 17. The body of the victim was recovered from the Hudson River near Stony Point, according to Trooper A.J. Hicks of the New York State Police. The identity of the person has not yet been released.
