Eastbound I-90 was fully closed at milepost 158, at the I-88 interchange, at 12:45 p.m. due to a crash involving a tractor-trailer, the New York State Thruway Authority said.
Traffic cameras showed the tractor-trailer in a jack-knifed position with debris scattered across the roadway.
The roadway had partially reopened by 3 p.m .
The extent of any injuries and the number of vehicles involved were not immediately available.
Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area and expect extended delays.
