Construction has begun on a $23 million wastewater treatment plant and sewer project in the Hudson Valley, which will help ensure reliable wastewater service and protect water quality. New York Gov. Several beaches in the Hudson Valley are closed to the public thanks to harmful algae blooms that can harm the health of swimmers. Five beaches in Putnam County are currently closed as a result of the blooms, according to county officials.
