Officer Stabbed While Breaking Up Fight In NY: 2 Arrested, Police Say A fight on a busy Orange County street ended with two arrests and a police officer treated for a stab wound, officials said.  The incident happened Monday, Sept. 1, just after 8 p.m. near Broadway and Clark Street in Newburgh, according to City of Newburgh Chief of Staff Mike Neppl.  Neppl said a City of Newburgh Police officer saw two men fighting and stepped in to separate them. Burger King Armed Robbery: Suspect, 50, From Dutchess Caught, Police Say A Dutchess County man has been arrested in connection with an early morning armed robbery at a Burger King in Orange County, police said. The incident happened in New Windsor at around 6:06 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, when police responded to a reported armed robbery at the Burger King located at 376 Windsor Hwy., the New Windsor Police Department announced on Wednesday, April 2.  Upon arrival, police found three employees at the restaurant, including the manager, who reported being assaulted by a male suspect who had what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing the scene.  With …

Inmate Punches, Bites Corrections Officer At Capital Region Jail, Police Say An inmate at a local jail is facing more charges after allegedly assaulting a corrections officer. The incident happened Wednesday, May 22, at the Saratoga County jail in Ballston Spa, but was not reported publicly until Tuesday, July 2. Sheriff’s officials said John Rathbun, age 26, punched a corrections officer in the face and bit him, causing injuries. The officer was treated at a medical facility and released. Rathbun, who is homeless, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony. He was arraigned in the Milton Town Court on Monday, July 1, and was taken back to the county jail w…
