Winter Weather Advisory In Effect For Dutchess

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. --- A three-pronged storm system that delivered gusty winds that led to scattered power outages and morning snow squalls Sunday has one parting shot left that may come during the Monday morning commute in the form of a snow followed by a mix of snow and sleet.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Dutchess from 2 a.m. Monday until 6 p.m. Monday.

A freeze warning is in effect from 8 p.m. Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday. The freezing temps will kill sensitive plants if not protected and brought indoors, the National Weather Service warns.

Overnight lows will be around 30 with a chance of snow after 2 a.m. Monday. One to 2 inches of accumulation is possible overnight in Dutchess. Another 1-2 inches could fall during the daylight hours.

Snow will be followed by periods of rain, snow and sleet before 4 p.m. as the high temperature struggles to climb out of the 30s. then a chance of rain between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., before snow may again mix with rain after 5 p.m.
