Westchester Woman Accused Of Abusing, Neglecting, Starving Dog, SPCA Says A Westchester woman is facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly failing to provide adequate food, water and veterinary care for an extended period to her young pit bull, according to the SPCA. The SPCA of Westchester announced that Yonkers resident Carletta Jenkins, age 43, has been arrested and charged following an investigation into her treatment of “Mad Dog,” who was found abused following a fire in her apartment. Kitten Stranded In Sewer Pulled To Safety After Good Samaritan Calls Police A kitten's cry for help was heard by a Good Samaritan, and two police officers took over from there. Police were able to rescue the kitten stranded in a sewer early Saturday morning in Westchester. At approximately 8:30 a.m., the Good Samaritan was walking her dog and came upon the kitten in the area of 276 Riverdale Ave. in Yonkers. Members of the 3rd Precinct and Emergency Service Unit responded.  ESU Officers Jamie Molina and Anthony Alaimo brought the kitten to safety. The feline is currently at the Yonkers Animal Shelter receiving attention.
