Four young Jewish men were killed and another driver seriously injured after a wrong-way crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday, Oct. 19, authorities said.
Troopers responded around 12:42 a.m. to the crash near milepost 1.3 in Carneys Point Township, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan.
Christopher Neff, 41, of Westminster, CO, was driving a Dodge pickup truck northbound in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike when it collided head-on with a Mazda SUV traveling south, Marchan said.

A 25-year-old woman who authorities say caused a wrong-way crash that left her and another motorist dead had been ticketed for similar offenses just days earlier, records show.
Sydnie M. Haines, of Blackwood, NJ, was heading east in the westbound lanes of Route 17 in Chester, NY, when she crashed head-on into a 2014 Honda Odyssey around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, New York State Police said. Both Haines and the Odyssey’s driver, 54-year-old Mordichy Zafir of Kiamesha Lake, were killed in the collision, authorities said.

Woman Drove Wrong Way On I-84, State Police Say
A 36-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly driving in the wrong direction on I-84.
Vanessa Alejos, of Newington, was arrested around 11:22 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, in Hartford County, by Connecticut State Police for driving the wrong way on I- 84 in East Hartford, state police said.
Troopers were alerted to the wrong-way driver by callers and were able to track down and pull over Alejos near Exit 56, they said.
Alejos was charged with four counts of construction zone violations, failing to comply with fingerprinting and interfering with an officer, state police said.

A father from Westchester was taking his son and two friends to a Jewish league basketball game when the BMW they were aboard was involved in a wrong-way crash on I-287.
Jordan Wachtell, 57, of Ardsley, was driving a 2018 BMW 330CI when it was struck by a 2006 Jeep, operated by Jaime Paucar, 50, of Amawalk, traveling westbound in the eastbound lane around 8:30 p.m. in Harrison on Thursday, Jan. 30, state police said.
