Going Once: Hotel In Poughkeepsie To Be Sold At Auction After several years of being operated by a management company, a popular, well-appointed hotel in the region is being auctioned next month. According to Ten-X, the 121-room Holiday Inn Express in Dutchess County on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie will be auctioned on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The company-owned property was originally put up for sale in 2020, but it was pulled due to the pandemic and market plunges.  Ten-X says the property is offered unencumbered by management and debt. The incident took place around 6:05 p.m., Saturday, April 24 in Dutchess County when 37-year-old Brendan J. Paredes, of Wappinger, jumped from the bridge on the Walkway Over the Hudson in the City of Poughkeepsie, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Walkway Race Series In Hudson Valley Canceled For This Year To the dismay of many, the Walkway Over the Hudson nonprofit organization and Dutchess Tourism, Inc. announced they have canceled the 2018 Walkway Race Series originally slated for Saturday, June 9.  The organizations said race partners were up against a number of scheduling and logistics difficulties that impacted this year’s race planning and execution.
