Winds out of the west at 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour during the day on Friday, Nov. 1 could cause more power outages. Slip-Slide Conditions Causing Metro-North Delays Slip-slide conditions of rain combined with fallen leave are causing delays late Friday evening on the Metro-North Harlem Line. The delays of up to 20 minutes are as a result of the conditions between North White Plains and Southeast, Metro-North said. Customers are being advised to listen to announcements at local stations. Metro-North Experiences Hours-Long Delays This story has been updated. Metro-North experienced delays into and out of Grand Central Terminal due to a speed restriction resulting from track work starting at the tail end of the morning commute and continuing into the early afternoon. In a statement issued just before 8:30 a.m., Metro-North advised customers on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines to listen for announcements at local stations. Delays were as long as 20 minutes at times.
