Flooding On Four Westchester Parkways, I-684 Crash Snarl Evening Commute
This story has been updated. The Tuesday evening commute was a crawl for many in the area after a day filled with showers, heavy rain and flooding. Stretches of four of the most traveled parkways in the area were closed late Tuesday afternoon due to flooding and a crash on northbound I-684 blocked two lanes for about an hour. The I-684 crash was northbound at Route 35 (Exit 6) in Katonah with stop-and-go delays to Route 172 (Exit 4) through the late afternoon. Taconic State Parkway Lane Closures Scheduled
There will be lane closures on the Taconic State Parkway as contracting crews perform maintenance work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that there will be single lane closures and traffic slowdowns on the parkway between exit 45 (Noxon Road) and Exit 47A (Route 55 East) in LaGrange. The closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 5, through Friday, Sept. 7. Motorcyclist Injured In Route 7 Crash
This story has been updated. There were stop-and-go delays on a stretch of Route 7 in Fairfield County early Sunday after a crash involving a motorcycle. The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. on northbound Route 7 near Route 202/Federal Road in Brookfield. The extent of the motorcyclist's injuries were not immediately released. Monthslong Lane Closure Starts On Taconic State Parkway
There will be single lane closures for several months on the Taconic Parkway in Dutchess County as crews complete construction work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Friday, Aug. 10, there will be single lane closures on the southbound lanes of the parkway between Route 44 and Route 55 in LaGrange. There may be delays, loud noises and “general frustrations” on several busy Putnam County roadways as highway crews begin an extensive project that is expected to last several weeks. The latest overnight lane and ramp closures near the new Tappan Zee Bridge have been announced as crews continue working on the Westchester landing.
