Storm Ida: NY Thruway Reopens
The New York State Thruway has reopened after immense flooding from Storm Ida closed down the busy roadway for hours through the Hudson Valley. As of 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, the Thruway Authority announced that all lanes are now open on I-87 south between exit 14 and exit 12. Two lanes are open northbound - the right lane remains closed at exit 12 due to flooding. Delays exist from ponding water and traffic. The roadway had been closed for hours in Rockland and Westchester County due to heavy flooding. State Police say motorists should use caution.

Serious Crash Causes I-84 Closure
A busy stretch of I-84 is closed during the height of the morning commute after a serious crash in Connecticut. The closure is in both directions after the crash involving a rolled-over tractor-trailer happened on the eastbound side just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 30 in Northern Fairfield County near Exit 13. Connecticut State Police said the crash led to a large fuel spill. Eastbound traffic is being detoured to local streets at Exit 11. Motorists are being advised to use alternate routes if possible. A Hudson Valley man who was photographed shirtless during the riots at the United States Capitol is facing charges after being identified through social media, where authorities say he boasted about breaching the building during the deadly pro-Trump riots on Wednesday, Jan. 6. Rain Could Change To Snow In Parts Of Region When New Storm System Sweeps Through
A new storm system scheduled to sweep through the region could end as snow in some spots. The storm is due to arrive late in the afternoon or early in the evening Friday, Oct. 16 and continue into Saturday, Oct. 17. Tanker Truck Fire Breaks Out Near High School In Northern Westchester
An oil tanker fire tied up traffic for several hours near an area high school. The oil tanker caught fire at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 on South Highland Avenue in Ossining near the high school, officials said. The incident caused severe traffic problems on Route 9A and in the surrounding areas. Police said that the fire caused traffic diversions between Main Street and Walker Avenue. I-84 Lane Reopens After Disabled Tractor-Trailer Incident
This story has been updated. The left lane on a stretch of I-84 has reopened after a disabled tractor-trailer was removed from the highway. The incident happened in East Fishkill at milepost marker 57, between Exit 58 (Ludingtonville Road) and Exit 52 (the Taconic State Parkway) just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. Traffic was reported to be backed up three to four miles. The tractor-trailer was removed just after 5 p.m. There are residual delays in the area.

Lane Closure, Traffic Stoppages Scheduled On I-84 Stretch
Motorists driving on I-84 in Orange County will see overnight lane closures and brief traffic stoppages for several days as crews perform construction work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that lane closures have been scheduled on I-84 in the Towns of Wallkill, Greenville, Montgomery and Wawayanda; and the City of Port Jervis beginning on Monday, July 15. Gridlock Alert: Serious Crash Blocks Lane On Taconic
This story has been updated. Both lanes on a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway have reopened after a serious crash late Friday afternoon, July 12. The crash, reported just before 4:30 p.m., was southbound approaching Exit 8 (Saw Mill River Road/Route 100) in Millwood. Two lanes had been blocked before the center lane reopened. New Tappan Zee Bridge Span Reopens After Fire Breaks Out On RV
This story has been updated. The Westchester-bound span of the new Tappan Zee Bridge has reopened after a fire involving a recreational vehicle broke out. The blaze, on an RV pulling a Honda Pilot, began just before 3:30 p.m. and was quickly contained, the New York State Thruway Authority said in a statement. No injuries were reported. "A structural engineer has evaluated the overhead gantry structure, and all lanes have re-opened to allow traffic to flow," the NYSTA said at 5 p.m. "Motorists should expect residual delays.”
