Florida Ends Vaccine Mandates, Calling Them ‘Slavery’; Experts Decry Decision
Florida will become the first state to eliminate all vaccine mandates.
Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo announced the move during a press conference on Wednesday, Sept. 3, comparing the mandates to “slavery.”
“Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery,” Ladapo said.
Previously, the state required children to receive measles, mumps, rubella, polio, chickenpox, and hepatitis B vaccines. Religious exemptions were allowed, but now parents may opt out for any reason.

As Republican presidential candidate, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, heads to the Hudson Valley for an upscale fundraiser, local Democrats, and LBGTQ supporters, plan to protest.
DeSantis is slated to appear at an invitation-only $ 6,600-a-person fundraising event in Rockland County at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern on Thursday, June 29.
In advance of the event, reportedly planned by Seth Gribetz, the Englewood, New Jersey investor, local Democrats are putting out the call for demonstrators on their Facebook page.

Hochul's Favorability Rating Negative For First Time; Strong Majority Says 'Hard Working': Poll
For the first time since taking office, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s favorability rating is in the negative, new polling finds.
Among registered voters, 45 percent hold an unfavorable view of the 64-year-old Democrat, compared to 40 percent who view her favorability, according to a newly-released Siena College poll.
In March 2023, voters were split evenly 43 to 43 percent.
Hochul’s job approval rating also appears to have taken a hit, sliding to 50-44 percent from 52-41 percent in March, according to pollsters.
