Retired Police Officer Who Served In Northern Westchester For Decades Dies A police department in Northern Westchester is mourning the loss of a retired officer who served communities in the Hudson Valley for decades.  The Peekskill Police Department announced the death of retired officer John Lynch on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in a post on social media.  According to the department, Lynch served with both the Beacon and Peekskill Police Departments for almost 25 years between the 1960s and 1980s. Most of this time was spent in Peekskill, the department added.  After his retirement, Lynch moved to Arizona, where he had been at the time of his death. …

Man's Body Found At Shopping Plaza In Northern Westchester Authorities are investigating after a man's body was found at a shopping plaza in Northern Westchester.  The body was found on Tuesday, Aug. 29 just before 10 a.m., when authorities responded to the Crossroads Plaza located at 1101 Main St. (Route 6) in Peekskill, according to Peekskill Police Lt. Adam Renwick.  There, police found a deceased man on the property of the plaza, who has not yet been identified, Renwick said. Northern Westchester's Paul Reubens, aka 'Pee-Wee Herman,' Dies Northern Westchester native Paul Reubens, who portrayed the iconic character "Pee-wee Herman" on television and on feature films, has died following a private six-year battle with cancer.  Reubens, who was born in Peekskill in 1952, died on Sunday night, July 30 at the age of 70 after a privately-fought battle with cancer, according to an announcement from the official Pee-wee Herman Instagram page.  In the announcement, Reubens shared a statement written before his death that included an apology for not revealing his cancer diagnosis.  "Please accept my apology for not going public with …
