Cure For Loneliness? Robotic Pets Going Out To Thousands Of Socially Isolated NYers
Call it four-legged companionship without the need for potty training. Thousands of animatronic pets are on their way to older, socially isolated New Yorkers in an effort to combat what experts describe as a crisis of loneliness. The state’s Office for the Aging (OFA) announced Sunday, June 3, that Rhode Island-based Ageless Innovation is delivering another 4,725 robotic pets and games to elderly adults through New York State’s aging network. Two Scam Prevention Seminars Scheduled In Dutchess County
Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro has announced that the County’s Office for the Aging (OFA) is hosting a series of scam prevention seminars to help increase awareness and reduce the number of victims. Molinaro Signs 2019 Dutchess County Budget Described As 'Bipartisan'
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has officially signed the 2019 County Budget, which was recently approved through a bipartisan vote. The budget, which was signed Friday, Dec. 14, includes numerous changes, such as the reduction of the county property tax levy for what will be the fifth consecutive year. The budget will also include a lower property tax rate for the fourth year, from $3.54 to $3.45 for $1,000 of true value assessments.
