Fatal Crash: Dutchess Woman ID'd As Victim After Car Hits Barrier In Pleasant Valley A man sustained serious injuries, and his passenger died after a single-car crash in the region. It happened in Dutchess County around 7:10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, in Pleasant Valley.  New York State Police said a 55-year-old Poughkeepsie man was driving a 2006 Honda sedan eastbound on Sherow Road when he failed to stop at the intersection with North Avenue.  The vehicle crossed both lanes of North Avenue, ultimately hitting a barrier on the east shoulder, said police. The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said the Pleasant Valley Weekend Celebration, which is set to take place from Friday, Sept. 16, through Sunday, Sept. 18, will cause some road closures in the area.
