Girl, 14, Critical After Newburgh Shooting: Police A 14-year-old girl is in critical condition after being shot in the City of Newburgh on Friday night, Dec. 20, police said. Officers from the City of Newburgh Police Department responded to a report of gunfire near 119 South Street at approximately 8:30 p.m., the department said. Upon arrival, officers found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. Police immediately provided life-saving aid before the victim was transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. 2 People Shot During Disturbance In Hudson Valley Two people received non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the Hudson Valley during an incident. The shooting took place in Orange County around 4 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, in the area of 182 Lander Street. According to Newburgh Chief of Staff Mike Neppl, responding officers located two victims who were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh with injuries that do not appear life-threatening. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed With Loaded Gun Following Chase, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was nabbed with a loaded semi-automatic ghost gun after a chase with police. The incident occurred in Orange County on Wednesday, July 24, around 11 p.m. in the area of Third Street and City Terrace in the city of Newburgh. According to Newburgh Chief of Staff Mike Neppl, detectives from the department's Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force were patrolling the area, which has experienced a rash of narcotics complaints and shooting incidents. Two Shot Multiple Times In Orange County Incident Two men were found shot after police responded to a "shot spotter" notification in Orange County. The incident took place around 2:30 a.m, Thursday, Dec. 19, when the City of Newburgh Police received the notification of gunshots in the area of City Terrace, said Lt. Joseph Burns. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Tykeith Stevenson, 31, of Newburgh, who sustained several gunshot wounds, Burns said. Area Shooting Victim Being Uncooperative With Police A 27-year-old man who was shot in the leg is allegedly being uncooperative with police. The shooting incident came to light in Orange County around 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 11, when the City of Newburgh police received a Shot Spotter notification on Lander Street, said Det. Lt. Joseph Burns. When officers arrived on the scene they found Kevin Garcia, 27, of the City of Newburgh, who had a gunshot wound to his left leg, Burns said. City Of Newburgh Man In Critical Condition Following Shooting, Police Say A 26-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the hip and neck in the City of Newburgh. Police detected the shooting around 7:48 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, after receiving a Shot Spotter activation for the area of 143 N. Miller Street, said City of Newburgh Police Det. Sgt. Joseph Burns.
