Hudson Valley Man Attacks Train Conductor, Fracturing Jaw, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been charged with assault for allegedly attacking a train conductor, seriously injuring him and fracturing his jaw. The incident took place in Orange County in the City of Port Jervis on Thursday, Sept. 7. According to Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden, Damarion D. Gulley, age 22, hometown unknown, of Rockland County, was arrested on Monday, Sept. 18, for the crime that took place on an MTA platform in Port Jervis. Person Struck By Train In Hudson Valley A person was injured after being struck by an MTA train in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 in Spring Valley. According to MTA officials, the person was struck by a train departing Spring Valley Station at the Dutch Lane crossing. Service on the Pascack Valley Line is suspended in both directions between Spring Valley and Nanuet, officials said. Metro-North Issues 24-Hour Ban On Alcohol During SantaCon Santa Claus is set to come to town this weekend, but he’ll be doing it sober if he takes a Metro-North train instead of his sleigh. With SantaCon scheduled this weekend in the area, the MTA announced that it was instituting a 24-hour ban on alcohol on Metro-North trains and stations. The ban goes into effect at noon on Saturday, Dec. 8 and will continue through noon the following day to “maintain safe and orderly travel during this weekend’s SantaCon event.
