A well-known area man was found dead of a possible drowning after authorities responded to a popular fishing spot in Hyde Park. Pleasant Valley resident Bruce R. Daniels, better known as "Bucky," was found around 4:36 p.m., Monday, April 1, following 911 calls to the Hyde Park Police Department for a possible drowning, said Chief Robert Benson. Once on the scene at 40 Crum Elbow, police and members of the Roosevelt Rescue Squad found the 75-year-old Daniels unconscious at the private fishing club fishing pond. An 11-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital with injuries after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Route 82 on Wednesday afternoon in Dutchess. The incident, in which the driver was found to have had a revoked license, occurred around 3 p.m. near Mavis Tires in Hopewell Junction, East Fishkill Police said.
