Person Flips Canoe, Then Pulled From Water In Dramatic Hudson Valley Rescue A person was rescued from the water after they were found clinging to a kayak in a Hudson Valley pond. The rescue happened in Putnam County at around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, when a forest ranger with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation saw a person in the water while patrolling White Pond in the town of Kent.  According to the DEC, the person had rolled their canoe and could not flip it back over. ID Released For Fisherman Who Drowned In Capital Region Pond Authorities are investigating after a fisherman was found dead in a pond in the region. Emergency crews in Washington County were called at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, about a man who had failed to return home from a fishing trip. Following a search, crews located the man’s body in Clarks Pond in the town of Jackson. On Monday, Nov. 6, New York State Police identified him as 61-year-old Marc Luther, of Wilton in Saratoga County. An investigation determined that Luther entered Clarks Pond in a kayak to go fishing.
