Girl Injured After Jumping Out Of School Bus In Hudson Valley
A teenage girl was severely injured after jumping out of the back door of an Omni bus following a flat tire. The incident occurred in Orange County around 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, on I-84 in Middletown. According to Trooper Steven Nevel with the New York State Police, a yellow Omni bus carrying 29 passengers was traveling east on I-84 in the town of Montgomery from Camp Pupa in Sullivan County. Inmate Punches, Bites Corrections Officer At Capital Region Jail, Police Say
An inmate at a local jail is facing more charges after allegedly assaulting a corrections officer. The incident happened Wednesday, May 22, at the Saratoga County jail in Ballston Spa, but was not reported publicly until Tuesday, July 2. Sheriff’s officials said John Rathbun, age 26, punched a corrections officer in the face and bit him, causing injuries. The officer was treated at a medical facility and released. A woman was injured after jumping from an overpass near a Northern Westchester train station, police said. The incident happened on Sunday evening, June 23, when a woman jumped from the Route 117 overpass and landed in a Metro-North parking lot near the Bedford Hills station, according to the Bedford Police Department.
