Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Hudson River Near New TZB A small, single-engine plane that reportedly ran out of fuel was forced to make an emergency landing in the Hudson River near the new Tappan Zee Bridge. No injuries were reported in the incident which occurred just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14. Divers assisted after the controlled landing close to Piermont Pier. The plane was then towed to the Tarrytown Marina. (See photo above.) It was not immediately reported if more than one person was aboard the plane. This is a developing story. Dogs Stuck In Icy Hudson River Rescued Two dogs who were out for a day of adventure were rescued after they became stranded on the ice on the Hudson River in the area of Parker Avenue in Ulster County. Members of the Esopus Fire Department responded to the area around 3 p.m. after receiving word of the stuck dogs, the department said on their Facebook page. The incident occurred at around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 when City of Poughkeepsie 911 received two calls from people at the Ice House on the Hudson restaurant reporting that a woman had crawled out onto the ice in the Hudson River.
