48-Year-Old Killed Two-Vehicle Crash In Area, Police Say A 48-year-old man died after a two-vehicle crash in the area. Orange County resident Shakir Rashada, of New Windsor, was killed on Tuesday, April 20 at the intersection of Route 52 and Rock Cut Road in the Town of Newburgh, said Lt. Peter Talarico of the Town of Newburgh Police. The crash occurred when a 21-year-old man driving a 2016 GMC Sierra westbound on Route 52 attempted to make a left turn onto Rock Cut Road and hit Rashada's Harley Davidson motorcycle, police said. No charges have been filed and an investigation is underway.

One Critically Injured In Crash Between SUV, Motorcycle On I-84 A 62-year-old Harley rider is in critical condition after he was struck by an SUV on I-84.  Orange County resident David A. Snell of Warwick, was entering I-84 eastbound in the town of Wawayanda on his 1990 Harley Davidson when he was struck by a 2018 Ford Explorer at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 12, according to State Police. He is currently being treated for his injuries at Garnet Medical Center in Orange County. State Police in Middletown are asking members of the public who may have witnessed the crash to call 845-344-5300 and reference case number SJS 9816756.

Westchester Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Taconic Parkway Crash A Westchester man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway  in Putnam County. It happened on Monday, Aug. 17 at around 1:30 p.m. in the town of Kent. Robert J. Costabile, 69, of Valhalla, was operating a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the northbound side near Hortontown Hill Road when, for unknown reasons, was unable to negotiate a curve and lost control before leaving the roadway, state police said. Costabile succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. This investigation remains ongoing.

It happened around 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, Danbury Police said. The motorcyclist, Bretburton Clark, 25, of Brookfield, was operating a Harley Davidson southbound on Federal Road in Danbury when it struck the 2012 Dodge Ram driven by 51-year-old Pedro Borgesserrafim, said police.  Clark was rushed to Danbury Hospital. The voluntary recall includes more than two dozen bike models that were produced between 2008 and 2011 with anti-lock brakes.
