Hudson Valley School Bus Driver Of Year Named With a smile and a shiny plaque in her hands, a Hudson Valley school bus driver was named Driver of the Year. Dutchess County resident, Linda Lawlor of the Hyde Park Central School District, was recently named School Bus Driver of the Year by the Dutchess County Traffic Safety Board.  County representatives presented Lawlor with a plaque on Wednesday, April 24, in front of Haviland Middle School. Member Of National Guard From Hudson Valley Dies Suddenly At 26 A Hudson Valley resident and member of the New York Army National Guard has died unexpectedly at the age of 26. Dutchess County resident William Christopher Bean IV, of Hyde Park, died in Albany on Monday, April 18, according to his obituary. Bean was born in Poughkeepsie, and he graduated in the class of 2015 from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park. He began serving as a combat medic in the New York Army National Guard in 2020. He also was a volunteer firefighter with Roosevelt Engine Company #3 in Hyde Park, his obituary said. Teen Charged After Making Shooting Threat To Area High School, Police Say A teenage student has been charged with making a social media threat of a shooting at the high school he attends in the area. Word of the threat in Dutchess County at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School was provided to police around 9:21 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 to the Town of Hyde Park Police, said Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson. The post featured a picture of a bathroom wall at FDR stating there was going to be a shooting at the school the following day.
