Motorist Killed When Car Crashes Into Pole In Hudson Valley A 25-year-old man was killed in an overnight single-vehicle crash in Dutchess County. According to New York State Police, Amilcar De Martinez Palma, of Poughkeepsie, died around 1 a.m. Tuesday near Stonykill Road in the town of Wappinger. An initial investigation suggests vehicle De Martinez Palma's 2008 Nissan Sentra, was southbound just south of Stonykill Road when for unknown reasons failed to maintain its lane, and exited the roadway onto the west shoulder and struck a utility pole, said Trooper AJ Hicks.  De Martinez Palma was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personne…

11-Year-Old Killed By Fallen Tree In Putnam An 11-year-old boy was killed Friday afternoon when a tree crashed through a home amid the Nor'easter, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. The tragic death occurred on 33 Dunderberg Road in Putnam Valley at about 12:15 p.m. When Deputy Charlie Johnson arrived, he observed a large tree had fallen and crashed into the home, trapping the young boy underneath. Johnson attempted to rescue the boy but was unable to reach him.
