Street Turns To River After 107-Year-Old Water Main Ruptures In Capital Region (Developing)
Crews are responding to a “substantial” water main break in the region that has inundated a residential neighborhood with a torrent of flood water. The Rensselaer County incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 in Troy’s Lansingburgh neighborhood, near 7th Avenue and 124th Street. According to city officials, a 30-inch cast iron water main running along 124th Street broke somewhere between 6th and 7th avenues. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed With 2 Guns After Chase, Police Say
A 39-year-old Hudson Valley man was nabbed with two guns after police received a 911 call reporting a man with a gun. The incident took place in Dutchess County in the city of Poughkeepsie around 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 5 on Main Street. According to the city of Poughkeepsie Police, officers responded to the area of 299 Main St., after receiving the call and spotted a man matching the description provided and attempted to stop him. DPW Worker Charged For Fatal Hit-Run Crash That Killed 16-Year-Old Westchester HS Student
A public works employee has been charged with a hit-and-crash that left a popular 16-year-old area student dead. The crash took place in Westchester around 12:20 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3 in the 600 block of McLean Avenue in Yonkers. Police responded to the 600 block of McLean Avenue on a report of a scooter driver having been struck by a vehicle, said Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos, of the Yonkers Police. A reward has been offered by police in Northern Westchester as they attempt to identify and locate a suspect who recently committed racist and anti-Semitic crimes in the Town Of New Castle.
