Woman Accused Of Assaulting Child In Area A woman accrued felony charges for hitting and verbally abusing her child on numerous occasions in the area, said police.  Crystal Whyble, of LaGrange, 28, was charged with the felony of second-degree assault and the misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child on Tuesday, Oct. 6.  The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and the county's Child Advocacy Center had been investigating Whyble's treatment of the child after the latter group was notified that the child was injured Friday, June 26 of this year.
